Second baseman Jeff Kent had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Dublin Pubcrawlers
defeated the Chainsaw Proctologists by the score of 10 to 8 at the
ballpark.
Dublin drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning as
they scored 5 runs on 3 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Kent who came through for the home fans when he doubled bringing in two
baserunners. Chainsaw threatened in the 9th but Dublin was able to put down
the rally.
The win went to Chris Capuano(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 3 and 2/3 innings.
Capuano got help from Trevor Hoffman who was credited with his 1st save.
Jeff Suppan(0-2) ended up with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 2 hits in 1/3
of an inning.
Rick Graves was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we
just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more
white hairs on this noggin of mine.'
